Safety is at the forefront of Sureway. It’s the backbone of any successful job. This is our guarantee, one that has been echoed since we first opened our doors. Today, we continue to make safety a principle and a true pillar of our culture.
It’s our belief that every employee has the right to a healthy work environment. From our frontline workers to our management staff, we empower each employee to protect the health and safety of their team and community.
Sureway’s safety training is focused on the continuous improvement of our workforce. Each program is tailored to the various positions across our organization. Our team identifies and addresses improvements with our operations in mind. We review and audit our training programs both annually and as working regulations change.
We’re involved in industry-recognized safety committees, including the Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association Safety Committee, the Edmonton Regional Safety Committee (in association with Alberta Construction Safety Association), and the Construction Owners of Alberta (COOA) Safety Committee. This keeps us at the cutting edge of training development and legislation.
Over the years, Sureway has substantially reduced our number of incidents, resulting in decreased lost time claims, claims costs, and injury severity. This is a direct result of our commitment to providing the safest possible work environment. We’re continually reworking our processes to achieve our ultimate goal of zero harm.
